A great sprinting spike for beginners who are figuring which sprint event is best suited for them. They are made from lightweight materials – to maximise your speed and keep your feet secure.
My previous sprinting spike was the Nike Zoom Rival S, which had good traction and felt very secure around the curve when training. I was intrigued to see if the Sprintstar could hold up well when doing longer sprint events. I’m pleased to say that it definitely did; the 200 and 400m consists of bends and straights, and the last thing you want is to experience discomfort during training. The spikes felt very responsive and soft under the heel. It is not the most structured spike so it is more suited for training sessions rather than competitions. The Sprintstar does have a bit of structure particuarly around the midfoot – reassuring me that I am secure. I can also notice the aid of more acceleration in my starts due to the spike's lightweight feel.
This is a perfect beginner spike for those who are not too serious about sprinting – a good option for training and preparing your feet for the season ahead. It's comfortable and responsive on the track – and you're bound to get a personal best with these quick spikes!
