In Testing
I haven’t found anything comparable to the Glycerin 23. A good fit in comparison to the previous version; I had to go for the wider width in the Glycerin 21 as they were too narrow. I mostly prefer a little more room in the toe box.
For the test I used them on a brisk 5k run outside and sometimes at the gym on the treadmill. I stuck to cardio/functional-style workouts and less static exercises (weight lifting). Although the cushioning felt stable while running, the stability factor didn't quite match up for the gym – I'd opt for a heavier, flatter-profile shoe. They are running shoes, after all, and for that they're great!
Verdict
I'm a fan of the latest model – top favourite shoe to date! Great burst of energy-return during long runs, and it's lightweight and comfortable enough for my gym sessions. I can spend the whole day in them at work and my legs or feet won't hurt at all!
I highly recommend the Brooks Glycerin 23 running shoe to runners seeking an exceptional experience.
