Improvements on Cloudmonster 2

Where to start? This complete overhaul from version 2 is massively better!
The triple-layered (version 2 was double-layered) CloudTec® midsole looks beefy but feels natural, providing maximum cushioning.
Combined with a propulsive Speedboard® this results in a smoother and more energised running experience.
Where version 2 felt hard and jolting at times, this feels effortless. The improved rocker combined with the Speedboard also helps.
The upper has also been fully overhauled and fits well, holding your feet securely without being tight. It’s also nicely breathable for those hotter runs.

In Testing

I found the On Cloudmonster 3 easy to run in right from the start. I’ve used it for snappier short/tempo runs and the speedboard has helped maintain and support my momentum, feeling energised and swift. I’ve also used it on long, slower runs and been really comfortable as the cushioning works very well. So far I’ve clocked about 60 miles, mostly on road but some dry, flat trails too.

Verdict

These are my current go-tos for virtually ever run. My somewhat inflexible lower back results in a need for running shoes that are beautifully flexible, otherwise I feel like I have to work harder. These are perfect and I’m loving them as much as my Hylo Impacts. When I’m running at a slower pace, I feel the cushioning respond and pad me very well. When I up the tempo the shoes respond and I feel the responsiveness of them, so they are an unusual and dreamy combination.

On Cloudmonster 3 will appeal to those wanting an enjoyable and lightweight shoe, designed to provide great energy-return during long and short runs alike.
