My first impression of the New Balance SuperComp Rebel was just how lightweight and cushioned they felt! New Balance shoes do tend to come up small, so you might want to go up half a size. I’m usually a UK 6.5 in running shoes, so I opted for a 7, which I found to be a very comfortable fit.
The upper design, combined with the gusseted tongue, gives me a secure locked in feel, keeping my foot firmly in place so I can focus on picking up the pace without any distractions.
One of my favourite features is the cushioning, particularly around the heel. As someone who tends to heel-strike, I really appreciate that extra level of protection and comfort for my joints.
The carbon-infused plate adds a fantastic snappy feel to each stride, helping to make every step feel sharp and propulsive. It also doesn’t feel overly firm or rigid like some other plated running shoes I’ve tried.
For me this is a great option for faster-paced runs, race day and interval sessions where that lightweight, propulsive feel really comes to its own. That said, with the generous amounts of cushioning it offers underfoot, I can also see it working well for slightly longer runs when you want to keep to a quicker pace without compromising on comfort.
If you’re looking for a well-cushioned, plated running shoe that feels sharp, snappy and propulsive then the New Balance SuperComp Rebel could be what you’re looking for! It combines lightweight comfort with a propulsive, energetic feel that makes picking up the pace feel effortless.
Whether I’m tacking intervals or heading out for a faster-paced run, this shoe gives me the confidence to perform at my best. It’s a fantastic combination of comfort, speed and propulsiveness, which makes every run feel that little bit more exciting!
