Run Better. Run Smarter.

Many runners run with poor technique, which can lead to injuries and reduced performance. Want to run faster, more efficiently, and with fewer setbacks? Having your running form assessed and refined, through in-person video analysis and coaching, helps unlock your full potential.

As a running technique & Chi Running coach, I’ve found that there are three key areas every runner can work on to improve their form. By focusing on technique, alignment, and overall biomechanics – plus optionally incorporating low heart-rate training – you can unlock a smoother, more sustainable running style.

These principles apply to all runners. They become especially critical for athletes increasing training volume in preparation for longer-distance events such as marathons.

Benefits:

  • Reduce or eliminate common running injuries, including knee and hip pain, IT band syndrome, hamstring strains, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, general soreness and fatigue.
  • Improve overall running efficiency, allowing your body to work efficiently and waste less energy.
  • Run faster with less effort, helping you reach new performance levels.
  • Transition safely into minimalist or natural-style footwear, lowering the risk of injury during the change.
  • Develop the most efficient "natural running" technique, enhancing both performance and long-term durability.

Technique

Many runners unknowingly overstride or heel strike, which can cause common running injuries such as knee pain and shin splints. Others go too far the other way – landing too much on the forefoot without proper form – leading to calf and Achilles issues.

Good technique makes your running feel easier, smoother and more sustainable.

Alignment & Biomechanics

If you sit at a desk all day, your body might not be ready for the physical load of running. Poor posture, misalignment in the knees or hips, and muscular imbalances are common contributors to injuries like runner’s knee.

Correcting posture and movement patterns reduces injury risk and improves performance.

Training Intensity

Many runners train too fast, too often, or simply churn out the miles thinking it will result in a better race. All this can lead to burnout, frequent niggles or minor injuries, as well as fatigue or even illness.

Low heart-rate training is a powerful method to build endurance and aerobic fitness without overtraining.
