In Testing

The Saucony Peregrine 16 is most certainly the lightest trail shoe I have run in thus far. With the fit being snug, it felt more like a slipper than a trainer. The cushioning was also optimal – not overpowering as is commonly the case these days, when the demand for hyper-cushioned shoes outruns the need most runners have for it.

Although feeling minimalistic, as a trail running shoe, the Peregrine 16 proved itself strong against the elements during my runs through the forest. Given its many vegan-friendly elements, it felt rewarding to play a part in adapting my trail runs with a running shoe which not only felt comfortable but was also made to protect the same environment that I run in so often.

Verdict

Highly recommended for trail or hybrid runners wanting a light, responsive shoe for their everyday training. I'm reminded that it's crucial to wear appropriate clothing when you're out facing the elements – so why would this differ for my feet! I felt well held through the design and comfort of the shoes, whilst walking or running on various terrains around my neighbourhood and further afield. The Peregrine 16 will elevate any runner's day (or night) on the trail.
