In Testing

Having previously worn the New Balance 860v14, I was unsure whether its successor would match its level of comfort. However, I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I first wore the newest version, which had incorporated a gusseted tongue, securing my feet in place. From the first run, I noticed that my gait had improved immediately, with the overpronation support placement working well with my gait, particularly decreasing the usual excessive rolling inwards of my ankles. This support was not overbearing however, and alongside the cushioning it felt much lighter and more effortless to both run and walk for miles!

Verdict

This 15th edition of the popular New Balance 860 is perhaps the best yet. The improvements to its Fresh Foam X technology alongside its Stability Plane has allowed for a simultaneous enhancement of cushioning and overpronation support. The model is suitable for runners requiring a strong anti-pronation shoe, which fulfils its technical functions whilst providing a comfortable ride for movement throughout the day.
