Description

Saucony’s popular supportive road running, the Guide 17 Wide, has been redesigned from top to bottom to give runner with broad feet better support and superior comfort. The new Centre Path Technology combines the higher sidewalls, wider platform with 6mm offset to minimise over-pronation and encourage your natural alignment. The increased level of midsole foam offers a plush feeling of softness and absorbs the shock from running on hard surface.

Details
Ideal Use:

Daily road runs, workouts, walking.

Upper:

The lightweight mesh upper is engineered to offer you the perfect fit and keep your feet comfortable due to the high breathability of the materials. The 360° fit incorporates padded heel collar and tongue, well designed lacing system and a precise shape to hold your feet in a securely.

Midsole:

Saucony’s designers completely changed the support in Guide 17. The new Centre Path Technology aims to enhance the comfort and protection of your feet while ensuring they stay in natural alignment. This technology introduces several key features to achieve this goal.

Firstly, the shoes equipped with Centre Path Technology feature a broader platform. This wider base provides a more stable foundation for your feet, reducing the risk of rolling or twisting during your running activities. By increasing the contact area with the ground, it encourages better balance and helps maintain a steady stride.

Secondly, Guide 17 incorporates higher sidewalls. These taller walls act as a barrier around the midfoot, providing extra support to your feet. By preventing excessive movements and offering increased stability, the sidewalls contribute to a more secure and controlled ride.

Finally, the asymmetric profile with 8mm offset encourages a midfoot landing to maintain your natural movement and lessen the impact from running on hard surfaces.

The midsole in Guide 17 is thicker than its predecessor. The plush PWRRUN foam is soft, bouncy and lightweight to offer you maximum comfort.

Outersole:

More durable rubber is used on the outsole in places with high wear.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.

LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.

WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.

SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
