With Martin Feaver, MA Ed & Special Guest James Spalding
Every time you put your trainers on, the language you use has an impact on the results you get and it's the part most athletes never even think about.
In this workshop you’ll discover how your body and performance adapt to the language you use – both internal and external. We'll also cover ways to use language to improve your training results, as well as the role language has in recovery from injury and even preventing injuries in the first place!
This is a practical workshop with clear explanations and practical tips to use straight away. You'll test the impact of language on your own body, learn simple techniques to reset your own nervous system for overcoming your personal language barriers, and be able to make immediate improvements in your performance.
After working with athletes over many years, Martin has noticed they are often surprised at the difference changing the language they use makes to their performances.
Whether you’re an amateur or professional athlete, injured (again!), exercise enthusiast, in rehab or starting out exercising, this workshop can help you change the results you are getting from the time and effort you put into your running.
Martin Feaver, MA Ed
With nearly 30 years experience as a solution focused coach, physical therapist, speaker and broadcaster, Martin runs The Mind Body Connection Ltd which is based in London.
Martin specialises in coaching and working with sportspeople who want to stop defending and start performing. His approach of Mindset and Body Coaching uses the powerful relationship of the mind and body so every component of an athlete’s life is integrated and working together.
As an athlete, Martin knows the real frustration of not achieving the results from the time and effort of training and what being injured means. He’s coached basketball, gymnastics, swimming, rugby, athletics and running and was a personal trainer before the term was even invented! He now competes in triathlons and half marathons.
Martin is passionate about spreading the message of self confidence, personal empowerment and wellbeing to the widest possible audience.
Special Guest: James Spalding
James has been running for 10 years and always had a goal – be it a new 5K PB or running an Ultra marathon. James’ current goal is to run 40 marathons before he's 40. He is currently on 32, with 15 months to go.
James works with Martin through regular sessions to keep connected with his body.
"My sessions with Martin are never the same. We always work together on different areas that may need attention or a boost. Our bodies are constantly changing and Martin helps me keep checked in with mine. Martin is a joy to work with and I always leave feeling calmer, stronger, more mobile and ready for my next run!"
