Livingston and District AC is a West Lothian track and field club, founded in 1972 and based at the Craigswood Sports Centre in Livingston.
The club welcomes athletes of all standards, from the age of 9 upwards. Their purpose is to provide an opportunity to participate in athletics with a coaching structure, which supports the continuous improvement of the athletes, combined with competition for all club members. Primarily they are a track and field club, but they do have road and cross country runners too.
LAC is a community based sports club, and rely on parents, coaches and senior athletes to help run the club. They are always on the lookout for more parents volunteering to help with officiating, assisting the coaches and admin duties.
At the Scottish Athletics 2007 Annual Awards they were named the 'Junior Club of the Year'.
To get the most out of the training, athletes should not be eating food (especially sweets or crisps) immediately before a session. Mobile phones and MP3 players are also not allowed during training!" - Livingston Athletics Club
