In Testing

As I continue to run longer distances over the years, I was tempted to try running in a racing shoe in an attempt to beat my PBs. Beginning first with a nylon-plated shoe, I eventually became comfortable with trying the Hoka Mach X 3, the effect of which I felt immediately. The propulsion was unlike any racing shoe I had yet tried, and covered slightly further distances without feeling much impact on my knees or feet. The cushioning allowed for this, and as such, I am now preparing to run an upcoming (much faster) race in these!

Verdict

For those who want to sprint, race, train and run through their PBs. The Hoka Mach X 3 maintains the best features of Hoka, in the way of lightweight cushioning and rocker technology, but also provides the well-reviewed Pebax propulsion plate for an even more efficient run. Ideal choice for regular Hoka runners, but also for those wanting to try something different for their shorter, faster runs.
