In Testing

As someone who overpronates slightly, I find that I generally reach for my supportive road shoes, as they offer more comfort with the added cushioning. However, I was in the market for something lighter – having been running for a while now, I wanted to work on my speed.

I was recommended to try the Hyperion GTS, and the first few runs were short and brisk. The shoes felt slightly stiff and firm which took some time to get used to. I had zero issues with it being too narrow or wide.

The shoe has a lower stack height than most of my current shoes I have in rotation. With the 8mm drop I found it allows for a more comfortable midfoot landing.

Verdict

Most shoes in the lightweight or racing category often come without any arch support. For those who do tend to overpronate but still want to compete for time, I highly recommend the Hyperion GTS.

Overall, lightweight stability shoes are rare to find on the market. With the Hyperion GTS, Brooks have provided another alternative for those seeking support, speed, and a bit of softness.
