In Testing

I was intrigued most by the grip on this shoe, which I know was inspired by racing-car tyres, and I’ve often had a problem with road-running shoes in wetter weather.

I also like the fact that the shoes can be recycled. As an avid runner I go through a lot of shoes and being able to dispose of them easily in a way that makes a positive impact on our planet is a huge advantage!

Initially I found these shoes rather firm, however they seem to fit nicely so I thought I would give them a try. As I set off for my run it started to lightly drizzle which got gradually heavier, something which unfortunately is unavoidable in the UK.

However, this did give me the chance to test out all famous grip of the shoes and see whether it was what it claimed to be. I did in fact find the Hylo Axis to be very stable on the slippery surfaces of London which made me feel more comfortable and confident as I continued my run.

The midsole felt very stable too, controlling every attempt my foot made from rolling inwards.
For me the Axis offers a nice balance between being firm and well cushioned, which could make it suitable for casual wear too.

Verdict

This is a fantastic shoe if you’re looking for something supportive with good grip on wetter surfaces. It’s structured, breathable and the perfect balance between something firmer and a bit more cushioned.
