JOIN NOWA compression sock also decreases muscle oscillation and therefore helps prevent calf muscle injuries or shin splints, and generally helps to improve performance as well as recovery.
Light Compression (top part of the sleeve):
Gentle compression allows the blood flow to move efficiently out of the calf muscle; including transporting the lactate built up in the muscles to the liver to oxidize the lactate.
Moderate Compression (mid section of the sleeve):
The compression fades from the lower firm compression area to the gentle light compression zone towards the top of the sock or sleeve. The key function of the moderate compression zone is to keep the muscles supported and facilitate continued circulation.
Firm Compression (bottom part of the sleeve):
This firm zone is where the sock or sleeve is at its most compressive. This zone gives a boost to circulation starting the process of flushing the built up lactate within the muscles up towards the liver.
Hilly running socks were created in 1992 by Dr. Ron Hill, who was a marathon runner and a former Olympian. These socks were designed to help runners overcome the challenge of running on hills, tarmac and trails over long distances, as they provide extra cushioning and support for the foot. With over 25 years of experience in running technology, Hilly's unique combination of fabrics and advanced engineering have led to an outstanding reputation in the industry. Fun fact: Dr. Ron Hill is also the founder of Ronhill running clothing!
Some of the signature styles like the Twin Skin, Supreme anklet and socklet provide excellent comfort, with an anatomical design for that super-soft feel under foot and in the shoe. All of the range also have key features too, including a seamless toe construction and arch grip support.
