The women's version of Altra’s favorite natural-foot-shaped and zero-drop running shoe: the Escalante 3.0 features an improved upper. The lightweight sock-like shaped upper is made from breathable mesh with simplified design. It is refined to offer secure hold and versatility for increased comfort.

The upper has been updated with a new softer and more breathable mesh sporting a simplified design. It encourages moisture evaporation, helping to keep your feet dry. The new, wider, sock-like fit around the foot is snug and makes every step of your run more secure and effortless.
A lightweight, soft and flexible zero drop training shoe supporting a natural mid-foot landing, returning energy and bounce with responsive cushioning. The wide toe box is shaped to match a natural foot-shape and amplifies the natural mid-foot landing - allowing the toes room to spread and providing stability for the foot.
The midsole features Altra Ego cushioning technology which is a soft, responsive compound offering you bounce and energy return.
The Flex grooves on the outsole provide flexibility and a smoother ride during your gait cycle.

Altra was born of the research and curiosity of Golden Harper who, determined to improve his running experience, decided to create a shoe with Zero Drop. All it took was an oven toaster and an existing shoe to remove the midsole, and Voilà! He gave birth to the first Altra running shoe, changing the world of running.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
