JOIN NOWPressio compression tights are great technical gear designed for runners – while increasing blood flow for better recovery and keeping the legs warm.
In the past, I used to run with regular and semi-compression tights and they were great. They still are but last year I have decided to give our new compression tights a go – from a brand called Pressio. I totally fell in love with them. I cannot imagine not having them in my running wardrobe. They are my latest great discovery.
Firstly, when I tried them on, I was so amazed to see how nicely they have shaped my legs and waist straight away. This immediately made me feel better about myself and motivated me to exercise more.
They hug my body tightly which means less slipping and no chafing at all, but at the same time they give me complete freedom of movement. In terms of fitting this type of compression clothing should feel snug but not painful. If they are improperly fitted redness, itching and irritation may occur. To avoid this, it is good to properly check the sizing chart on the product page.
Secondly, compression tights help keep our muscles steady and reduce vibration as we run – so we do not lose energy. Also, they help promote blood and lymphatic flow. Simply, our blood brings nutrients and oxygen to our muscles, so when we increase the blood pressure more oxygen supplies our muscles.
Another reason why I wanted to experience compression tights was, that in the last few years, I noticed that a lot of little spider veins appeared on my legs. I found out that they can lead to varicose veins in the future – compression tights, socks or calf guards are usually recommended for that. They prevent formation of further spider veins and reduce leg and foot swelling by improving blood circulation. According to the principle, prevention is better than cure, so I decided to take care and try them to see if I can stop a bit of this process.
If you have never used compression gear, simply give it a try – it might be something that you really like. They can be worn as an alternative to your regular tights, for your shorter or longer runs or tougher workouts.
I use them for my early morning runs and workouts, and I noticed that they help my muscles get ready quicker to warm up. I remember I was using hundreds of excuses not to go out there because of the weather, tiredness etc. But now, I am so motivated and happy that I found something that helps me to keep going.
No matter if you are a total beginner or a more experienced runner, in my opinion it is always interesting to test new apparel and try to find your best comfort.
