The upper on Hierro v8 uses a Print Dying processes, rather than traditional dye, requiring less water and energy. The mesh is made from 100% recycled polyester sourced from textile misuse within New Balance’s supply chain. Additionally, the upper is manufactured with printed components instead of cutting, welding, and stitching materials together which also reduces waste in production.

The high-tech properties of the upper are not compromised by sustainable production. The soft upper provides excellent breathability and keeps your feet in a secure hold on uneven terrain.

Midsole:

The use of sugarcane as a renewable resource helps to reduce the environmental impact of producing the midsole foam, making the Hierro v8 a more sustainable running shoe. In addition to its eco-friendly properties, the Fresh Foam X foam provides a high level of soft cushioning for trail running and outdoor adventures. The built in Rocker sole technology rocks your feet in forward motion to offer you a smooth ride.

Outersole:

The Vibram Eco-Step Natural outsole contains natural rubber and recycled rubber. The combination of two different rubber provides the durability and grip you need whilst also reducing your carbon footprint.

New Balance’s sustainable approaches not only reduce the carbon footprint in production process, but also help to minimise waste and support a circular economy.
