The 2E wide fitting of the New Balance 880 v12 neutral road running shoe has been modified for improved performance and comfort. The midsole features reimagined dual layer technology - a shock absorbing blend of soft Fresh Foam X cushioning and a responsive layer - to provide you with excellent energy return in conjunction with plush comfort. Also available in standard (D) fitting and extra wide (4E) fitting.

The volume of the midsole has been slightly increased in contrast with the previous version, to deliver you increased comfort.
The soft Double Jacquard mesh upper is engineered to deliver you a plush fit. It also allows your feet to breathe. It is completely seamless and strategically reinforced in zones with high wear and tear to create a perfect fit without aggravation.
The new reimagined dual layer midsole is made from two different compounds. The top layer is super-soft Fresh Foam X (the same as in the top end 1080 running shoe). It ensures premium step-in comfort. The bottom layer runs from the forefoot to the midfoot. It is made from more responsive materials to offer you better rebound with energy return virtue for an effortless take off.
A blown rubber outsole provides cushioning and durability.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
