The Janji Rainrunner Pack Jacket is made with lightweight ripstop fabric, designed to protect you from all weather conditions. Its unique construction ensures durability while remaining breathable and comfortable. Whether you're running in the rain or facing strong winds, this jacket will shield you from the elements, keeping you dry and comfortable throughout your workout. The articulated sleeves, cuffs and hood stay in place as you move without the need for additional adjustments of bungees or pulls. The 360° reflectivity will increase your visibility when running in the dark. Three zip pockets — including a packable left side pocket with elastic carry strap — and a new snap closure to stow the hood make the Rainrunner an essential outer layer to take wherever you go, ensuring you're prepared for variable weather conditions.
This new Rainrunner fabric is made from recycled polyester to help reduce its environmental impact. It has a C6 DWR finish for high-performing, long-lasting water repellency and quick dry. C6 DWR is made from short-chain PFC's (perfluorinated chemicals) which are better, environmentally, than long-chain PFC's. Janji recognise that even this treatment isn't as green as it could be, so they continue to look and test for an alternative to C6 DWR finish that will not compromise on the performance of the Rainrunner fabric. This reflects Janji's responsbile and transparent attitude to environmental impact.
Janji was founded over 10 years ago by two college track mates (Dave & Mike) in the city of Boston. Their aim was to create a brand that had a purpose beyond high-performance gear and actually used running as a mechanism to give back to communities. That's where the name 'Janji' originated from – it means ‘promise’ in Indonesian. Their promise was to expand access to clean water around the globe.
Each season is inspired by a location. They then also partner with a water charity in that location and donate 2% of every sale to support their clean water projects. Sustainability of the brand is a key pillar in how Janji was founded. All of their materials are either Bluesign Certified, OKEO-Tex certified or both. More and more of their products each season are being developed using recycled fabrics. Their DWR finish is now completely PFC-free, while still maintaining the same 30k waterproof rating.
