Version 4 of the Hoka Mafate Speed is a well cushioned and lightweight long distance trail running shoe with excellent grip. The improvements in this edition include a responsive PROFLY+ midsole for an energetic ride. The single layer Jacquard mesh upper provides breathability and secure comfort.

The new techy PROFLY+ midsole combines two different foams: the responsive base layer and the soft top layer offering you a springy landing in combination with an energising toe-off transition.
The new upper is made from one layer of plush woven Jacquard mesh to avoid excessive bulging of materials. It is flexible, lightweight and breathable for maximum comfort. The structured shape, together with the reinforced toe cup and bolstered heel collar, guarantees your feet security on bumpy trail terrains.
The Vibram Megagrip outsole is a trademark of durability and quality. In tandem with the Litebase technology it decreases outsole thickness around 40-50% making it lightweight while still maintaining high performance. The 5mm deep lugs will not disappoint, even on muddy terrain.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
