Upper:
The improved ripstop mesh material is resistant to tears and abrasions, ensuring that Lone Peak 8 can withstand various terrain and activities without sacrificing breathability. Additionally, the secure hold of the upper ensures a snug fit through the midfoot, however the roomy toe box offers space for your toes to splay out for a natural feel.
Midsole:
Altra's Ego foam in the midsole provides plenty of bouncy cushioning to absorb shock on tough trails. The soft cushioning in this zero-drop, 25mm thick platform is designed to position your forefoot and heel at the same distance from the ground surface. This natural alignment encourages the ideal running posture along with a low impact landing.
The StoneGuard built in the midsole provides added safety and protection while navigating rocky or unpredictable terrains.
Outersole:
The technical Maxtrac outsole features a multidirectional lug pattern that enhances traction and grip on any hazardous tails. It is made from a hardwearing rubber blend that is resistant to wear and abrasion, ensuring its longevity and reliability even in challenging conditions.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
