This refresh of Salomon’s Ultra glide range meets expectations of comfort and practicality, offering trail runners a uniquely energising ride.

Having seldom run on aggressive terrain, I have often found general trail running shoes quite uncomfortable and heavy. By consequence, I was wary of the new Salomon Ultra Glide, wrongly assuming a proper trail shoe couldn’t be comfortable! It was, instead sufficiently cushioned and responsive, feeling effortless as soon as I stepped onto my local trail. I have since taken the Ultra Glide on both my long Sunday runs, and short distance training sessions. They’ve felt as the name suggests, an ultra-smooth ride.
This sequel to Salomon’s original Ultra Glide trail running shoes exceeds previous levels of comfort and stability. Improvements made to both the midsole cushioning and outer durability are visible, successfully offering new and experienced trail enthusiasts an energising run through nature, whatever the weather.
