MANUELA'S PICK
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Asics' iconic shoe boasts reliable support and supreme comfort. Try this top of the range, updated model for stability.
Read more »The revolutionary 4D guidance system provides support in all dimensions. The building blocks of this is firstly the slightly increased width of the midsole, this encourages a more stable stride. The second aspect is the design of the last of the shoe; built to cradle your foot in secure comfort for the perfect ride. The third part of this is the Energetic Medial Foam; this helps to guide your foot, from landing, through a naturally balanced stride. Combining all 3 dimensions provides a stable platform for a variety of foot strikes, so it will support you and keep you in secure, plush comfort – well, your feet anyway :-)
The new knit upper is lighter and made from 100% recycled materials. Engineered precisely to hold your foot securely whilst providing great breathability. The improved gusseted tongue maintains a secure hold.
The FF Blast Plus Eco midsole features 24% BIO content to decrease the impact on the environment after the shoes' lifespan. This super lightweight foam is also 4mm thicker for maximum shock absorption and premium comfort. It's energetic properties ensure you don’t sink into the cushioning but get good momentum into your next stride.
The updated PureGel foam in the heel is 65% softer than its predecessor, visible Gel, to give you a softer feeling when landing.
Asics is named after the Latin phrase ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, which means ‘A Sound Mind in a Sound Body’. The brand has lived up to its commitment to promoting healthy, fulfilling and sustainable lifestyles around the world for over 70 years.
They have stood out for their innovative character, especially in the sports and sustainability area, creating the ASICS Institute of Sports Sciences in Japan, for which they have obtained several external recognitions. In 2020, they launched their first running shoe collection made from 100% recycled polyester fibers (PET bottles). By 2030 their goal is to use 100% recycled polyester.
As a result, ASICS continue to surprise us with their wide range of road and trail running shoes, active wear and athletic wear. They continue to be one of the market leaders, with well-known models such as the Gel Kayano and Gel Nimbus.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
