Fit and Feel

The Divide offers a secure and snug fit. I like to use the lock-lacing technique and double-knot my shoes, and I often find that laces on other shoes are too short — not the case here! The longer laces make it easy to achieve a customised fit without running out of length. The Divide is also very well–cushioned for a trail shoe in fact I would say it could by considered more of a hybrid shoe. It doesn’t feel too heavy on the road so could be used for flatter surfaces as well as on muddy trails.

Performance on the Trail

While the Divide handles light trails and gravel paths well, its grip isn’t aggressive enough for more technical or muddy terrain. That said, it transitions nicely between road and trail, making it a great hybrid option for runners who split their time between both.

Verdict

The Brooks Divide strikes a great balance between protection and versatility. With its waterproof design and cushioned feel, it’s an excellent choice for runners who want one shoe that handles both trails and roads with confidence. If you’re new to trail running or enjoy lighter off-road routes, the Brooks Divide is a great entry-level option.
