This Ronhill Core Half Zip Top is a lightweight, thermal base-layer designed to be worn next to the skin and ideal on cooler days or as a layering piece. The fabric is a super soft polyester with a really soft peached finish. Half zip ventilation prevents overheating and the thumb loops keep sleeves in place and the back of your hands warm.
Ronhill is famous in the UK thanks to its founder – Dr Ron Hill MBE. In September 1970, five months after becoming the first Briton to win the Boston Marathon in a record time of 2:10:30, he decided to produce kit that kept him winning. Dr Ron gained a PhD in Textile Chemistry from the University of Manchester. Through alchemy and his art as a runner, he began to rethink the fly-by-night running kit of the time.
After winning the Commonwealth Games in 1970 he developed the ‘side-split short’ – which famously become the Freedom Shorts – and the Mesh Vest, both having accompanied him to his greatest victories on the road. Since then, Ronhill has been accompanying countless British runners, helping them to achieve their goals.
