Description
The Lone Peak 7 is Altra's best off-road shoe ever. This zero drop trail running shoe has undergone small technical improvements to enhance durability and performance. The upper is now made from a harder wearing rip stop mesh to go the distance and protect your feet on unforgiving terrain. A stickier rubber has been used on the new MaxTrac outsole to grip better on wet rocks. Ideal for running or hiking on any trail conditions.
Details
The improved rip stop upper is formed in a foot shape structure to give your toes space to spread out. It holds the foot securely through the midfoot. Due to its reinforcements in the areas of high wear it is more durable.
An upgraded stickier MaxTrac rubber tread on the outsole grips the ground in wet or dry conditions. More durable deep lugs cut through soft ground and release mud more quickly to give you a stronger toe off push and better traction.
A StoneGuard built into the midsole adapts to bumps underfoot. It is designed to the shape of the bones in your foot to reduce the risk of turning your ankle when stepping on a rock. The Altra's EGO midsole provides soft cushioning to absorb impact and protect your feet.
The gaiter attachments allow you to fit gaiters securely if you need to.

Altra was born of the research and curiosity of Golden Harper who, determined to improve his running experience, decided to create a shoe with Zero Drop. HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FOR RUNNING SHOES
Your running shoe size will generally be 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than your regular (‘dress’) shoe size. Bear in mind also that one foot can be slightly bigger than the other.
LENGTH
First, kick your foot back into the heel of each shoe before checking how much space is left at the front. When standing in each shoe with your full weight on the foot, it’s best to have between half and a full thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
WIDTH
When standing in the shoe, it’s best to have a little wiggle room for the toes, but the back of heel should still feel nicely secure.
SPIKES
Sprint spikes are best when a close fit. Distance spikes best when up to a half a thumb's width between the end of the longest toe and the end of the shoe.
