Whether it is your 1st or your 100th, whether your training has gone brilliantly or been a little bit sketchy, whether you are in the finest of health or you have your physio on speed dial, a Marathon is always a big deal. Not just on your body but also in your head. This talk will help you learn how to deal with the pressures of race day, the stresses in the build up to race day and give you some psychological tools & strategies to help you through the miles on race day, feeling comfortable, positive and able to overcome any bumps on the road.
Dr Josephine Perry (Josie) runs Performance in Mind, a sports psychology consultancy. She works with businesses and individuals to teach strategies that can be used whether you are just starting out in your sport, aiming to get a little bit faster or already a successful athlete. The strategies help athletes reach their sporting potential and feel more comfortable doing so. Josie is also an amateur runner and triathlete and in the last 12 years has competed in hundreds of races (mainly marathons and triathlons) all over the world.
