An informal and inspirational evening, with two inspirational people:
Jonny Muir, author of The Mountains are Calling and Jasmin Paris, record-breaking long-distance mountain runner.
Jonny Muir is a hill runner, adventurer and author. His latest book The Mountains are Calling is published by Sandstone Press in May 2018. It is a celebration of the Scottish Hills and Scottish Hill Running. It chronicles the sheer joy of running in wide, open, high places and some of the many characters of the Scottish Hill running community.
Jonny will talk about what inspired him to write his latest book, with some slides, anecdotes and stories of his own adventures in the hills.
Jasmin Paris needs little introduction to those familiar with the Scottish and UK fell and mountain running scene. The quiet, unassuming member of Carnethy Hill Running Club is a former Scottish and British fell running champion. She also excels in long ultra distance challenges, competing with distinction in the international Sky Running Ultra and Extreme series. She is also women’s record holder for the Lakeland Bob Graham Round and North Wales' Paddy Buckley Round, and has the fastest overall time for the Classic Ramsay Round in the Lochaber hills.
Above all she just loves running in those same wide, open high places. She will talk about her many and varied running experiences and adventures.
The evening will be a must, not just for anyone with even a vague interest in fell and trail running and the great outdoors, but for anyone with an interest in endurance sport and the many and varied challenges that embraces.
