Fiona Begg: Common running injuries and how to prevent them
History shows the majority of runners training for an event, whatever the distance, develop an injury, either major or minor during the build up to it.
Fiona, from Space Clinic in Dalry Road near Haymarket, will give a presentation on common running injuries. She will talk about how you can recognise them, what to do when they arise, and more importantly, how to try and stop getting injured in the first place.
Neil Renault: 10 tips on how to prepare for your marathon and half marathon
Neil, member of Edinburgh Athletic Club, 2.18 Marathon runner and 2nd in the 2015 Edinburgh marathon (2.24) has been one of the leading runners on the Scottish road racing scene in recent years.
He will give 10 simple tips on key preparation for marathons and half-marathons, covering not just training ideas but race weekend itself. All the tips are relevant to any runner, whatever their standard, whatever their goals.
The evening will finish with a general question and answer session, where you can tap into expert knowledge on all things marathon and half-marathon related.
