How not to get injured? What to do if you already are? How to spot the signs of overtraining? Whether completing a couch-to-5km schedule or an experienced marathon runner, no one likes to be injured.
In this evening workshop you will learn some simple tips from a top Edinburgh Physio, Louise Imrie, and Run and Become’s experienced marathon runner, Adrian Stott, to stay the right side of that injury line.
Injury is common amongst runners and can often lead to loss of training, compromised performance and ultimately withdrawal from a race. This interactive session will discuss a multi-factorial approach to injuries in runners and discuss strategies to minimise time lost due to injury.
About Louise Imrie
Louise a Sports Physiotherapist, Performance Physio + Yoga, has worked for over 10 years full-time in High Performance Sport. She was part of the Team Scotland Medical Team at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and has been named as part of the support staff team for the British Swimming Open Water Team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
About Adrian Stott
Adrian has been running marathons and ultra marathons for over 30 years, and helps out with team management and support with both Scottish and British ultra distance teams. He will offer simple tips on Trying to find the balance between pushing yourself and not straining yourself. This is as relevant to someone training for there first 5k, as it is to an experienced marathon runner.
