Improve Your Fitness with Garmin: 22nd November

On Wednesday 22nd November 2017 we held a very informative evening learning about Garmin watches.

Gary Muirhead, our Garmin Tech Rep gave everyone a brief background to Garmin, touching on some aspects other than running that Garmin do, for example aviation and nautical navigational technology, and how they have become a truly global player in many areas where GPS technology is key.

He then went through all the Forerunner and Fenix 5 watches explaining briefly what each watch does.

There were demo watches that  everyone could try on to see how the different watches fitted.

The Garmin Connect website was also explained. Here all your runs can be downloaded onto either your smart phone via bluetooth or your computer via the USB connection while you charge your watch. On the site you can see a map of where you have run. Graphs of your pace, heartrate, cadence, altitude and other information depending, of course, which watch you have, can be seen and analysed. Different routes can also be looked at and training programmes can be downloaded onto your watch (from the Forerunner 235 upwards)

After the talk we tried on the various models for fit and many questions were answered.

Everyone was very happy afterwards and felt they knew a lot more about the Garmin watches.
