Edinburgh Road Club was established in 1925 as a cycling club. With over 600 members, Edinburgh Road Club is one of the biggest and most successful cycling clubs in the UK. They are involved in all types of cycling, including road, track, triathlon and mountain-biking. Their members are regular prize-winners in Scottish events and also compete successfully at UK and international level.
The club organizes weekly club time trials throughout the season, and promotes a number of open competitions. The club also organizes regular group training rides and coaching sessions.
Edinburgh is ideally placed for mountain-biking, with the Pentland hills bordering the city and the nearby '7 Stanes' mountain bike trails of Glentress and Innerleithen. The club organizes regular local weekend group rides, mid-week night riding sessions and epic days out in the Scottish Highlands. For the more competitive, Edinburgh RC members are active in all forms of mountain-bike racing, including XC, downhill, trailquest, mtb, orienteering and enduro racing.
The Edinburgh RC's website is very informative, clear and in-depth, we recommend you check it out for more information on the types of cycling, training and social events and much more.
New members of all ages and abilities are welcome to the club.
Perhaps you're wondering whether to try racing? Trust us - it's the most fun you can have on two wheels!
