London Practitioners

We all get aches and pains from time to time, and even though we will do the best we can to fit you out with the most injury repellent shoes, if you find yourself in need of some medical help these people have been checked out by us and are ace at getting you back pounding the streets again. Rest assured, we list the practitioners here because they are at the top of their field, not because of some dodgy back hander!

Barry Crane: Physiotherapist

Barry, who works from Body Architecture in Battersea, graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with first class honours degree in physiotherapy and research. He is not only highly qualified and experienced, but also really, really nice. You can meet him at our monthly Clinic nights.

Nathan Carter: Physiotherapist

Based in Chiswick, you can also meet Nathan at our Clinic nights. Nathan is a really good and knowledgable physio, and they can be hard to find! An avid sportsman who has completed a number of Marathons, plus the dessert multi day ultra Marathon Des Sables, he knows and understands the challenges our bodies face when working towards new fitness goals.

Martha Wiekens: Injury Rehabilitation, Personal Trainer

Martha is quite simply brilliant! We first met her when she started up Carbon PT, she impressed us with her passion for helping people to get the most out of their exercise, her practical and highly effective approach to injury rehabilitation, and her easy and friendly nature.

Andrew Ferguson: Osteopath

Notting Hill based, Andrew is a very experienced osteopath. We learnt of Andrew from a customer who raved about how brilliant he was, and a number of us here at Run and Become couldn’t agree more!

George Hughes: Osteopath

Based in Victoria, George has been helping our customers for decades. He is used to helping runners with all sorts of injury woes, and his magic hands are also very good for keeping you ticking over and injury free in the run up (excuse the pun) to a challenging event – better than any sports massage you’ll find.

Reza Daneshmand: Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, and Spinal Injuries

Based in South Kensington, Reza is more than just a physio. He is patient and understanding, and will listen and then work with you to release the pain/injury and get you on the road to recovery. He has the gentlest hands in the business and a personality to match.

Richard Budd: Osteopath, Pilates Tutor

Based on Cleveland St. W1, Richard is a highly regarded Osteopath and Pilates tutor, teaching and lecturing in the UK and internationally. Richard has extensive experience working with the general public, amateur and professional sports people and theatre performers.

Simon Murphy: Physiotherapist, Pilates

Based in Hampstead, Simon is a very good physio with experience in sports, musculoskeletal physio, exercise rehabilitation, muscle energy techniques and acupuncture.

Joy Walter Clinic: Physiotherapy, Sports Massage, Biomechanical Assessment

Based in Wimbledon Village and Hinchley Wood, the Joy Walter Clinic provides highly professional physiotherapy designed to return you to health as efficiently as possible. Joy’s team is very experienced, especially in sports related injury – they provide the physio for our 24 Hour Race each year – and Joy’s extremely focused and practical approach influences her staff.

Leslie Watson: Physiotherapist, Osteopath

Leslie is a brilliant physiotherapist based in the Baker Street area, with decades of experience. She started out as runner, and a very good one, she was one of our first great female marathon runners, and continues to be involved with the running scene, she has commentated at the London Marathon and been featured and written for numerous running publications.

Jeanette McDonnall: Shiatsu, Homeopathy

Shiatsu is a Japanese pressure point massage and the most effective treatment for shin splints that we’ve come across. Shiatsu focuses on energy points in the body, releasing tension and increasing blood flow, helping to repair the muscles and tendons.

The London Podiatry Centre: Podiatry and Podiatric Surgeon

The Centre is in Lewisham, headed up by Ron McCulloch. We have been recommending customers to Ron and his Centre for years, and quite simply it’s the best! As their website states: The London Podiatry Centre provides the most clinically-advanced care to patients seeking conservative treatment or foot surgery for foot-related sports injuries, biomechanical problems, foot abnormalities and painful ailments such as bunions and hammer toes.

Nordic Balance: Gym, Pilates, Yoga, Boxing Classes

Located in the heart of St. James SW1, Nordic Balance is an independently owned gym of the highest standard. We stumbled across it when looking for local Pilates classes, and have been so impressed not only by the classes but by everyone who works at the gym.

Ian Jones: Chiropodist, Podiatrist

Ian works in W1 and is an excellent Chiropodist; professional, understanding and very experienced. We’ve not had a podiatric consultation with him, but we’re confident he’s as good at this as he is at Chiropody.

Simon Adam: Podiatrist

Simon works at the Premier Foot and Ankle Centre in Harley Street. As a Musculoskeletal Podiatrist in Gait Analysis and Biomechanics, Simon is highly experienced, and as a keen marathon runner he understands the injuries that can flare up from overuse strain or incorrect biomechanics.

Michael Phan: Personal Trainer, Race Training Schedules

After completing the New York Marathon in 2007, Michael found he was hooked, he didn’t just want to run more, he wanted to learn more about heath and fitness, and after successfully qualifying as a CYQ Level 3 Personal Trainer he started to share his passion with others.

Cypren: Coach / Personal Training

Cypren was one of the UK’s top sprinters in the 90s, just under international standard, and moved on to be a GB Sprints and Jumps Coach. He also works as a trainer for us lesser mortals! He’ll improve your speed, strength, core stability and flexibility, and most importantly he’s a very nice guy. You won’t be intimidated and you will get faster.

Heena Patel: Chiropodist

Heena Patel is a really good chiropodist.
